Kitchen Timer

As many timers as your stove has burners, each with its own name. It buzzes when it's time to flip the steak, and starts every timer for a whole meal with one tap.

Try it first, decide later. Suggested $4.99, or whatever you think it's worth.

What is Kitchen Timer?

The timer on your stove does one thing at a time. Real cooking doesn't. Kitchen Timer runs the rice, the roast and the garlic bread side by side, each with its own name, so when something buzzes you know exactly what to grab.

โฑ๏ธ

Many timers at once

Start as many as you need and give each a name, like “pasta” or “oven”. Start them one by one or all together.

๐Ÿฅฉ

Flip reminders

Set it to buzz every 4 minutes for 2, 3 or 4 sides, or a different time per flip: steak 2 ยท 4 ยท 4, a quick sear 2 ยท 2.

๐Ÿ“š

Presets

Save the timers you use again and again, and start them with one tap next time.

๐Ÿฝ๏ธ

Meals

Group presets into a meal, like Sunday roast, and load it to start every timer for that dinner at once.

โณ

History

Finished and stopped timers are listed afterwards, so you can see what ran and for how long.

Rings when locked

Lock-screen alerts keep working while your phone sleeps on the counter. A built-in test alarm lets you check it first.

Works with your AI assistant

Link ChatGPT or Claude and let it set, change and start your timers for you.

Share with other cooks

Send the app, or a link from another cook, and open it straight into your kitchen.

How it works

  1. Open the app. Use the launch button on this page. Nothing to install, though you can add it to your home screen.
  2. Tap + for a new timer. Set the time, give it a name if you like, and pick a flip pattern for anything that needs turning.
  3. Keep the ones you reuse. Tick Also keep in Presets, then group presets into meals.
  4. Cook. Start one timer, or Start all, and listen for the buzz.

Pay what you want ๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

Kitchen Timer has no trial, no license key and no nag screens. Open it and use it. If it earns a spot in your kitchen, chip in whatever you think it's worth. $4.99 is the suggestion and the range most people pick is $2 to $10, but you set the price.

Pay $4.99 with Venmo

Tap the button and Venmo opens with your amount and “Kitchen Timer” already filled in (you can still change it). Or scan the code with your phone camera and pay @FredrikHWinsnes. Paying nothing is fine too.

Questions

Is it really free?

Yes. There is no trial and no locked feature. $4.99 is the suggested contribution, but any amount, including nothing, is welcome.

Will it ring if my phone is locked?

Yes, it uses lock-screen alerts. To be sure on your phone, open the menu, then Advanced › Diagnostics › Test alarm in 60s, lock the phone, and listen for it a minute later. Check your alarm volume isn't at zero.

iPhone or Android?

Both. It runs in the browser on any phone and can be added to your home screen. There is also an Android app; the app tells you when a newer version is available.

What does linking ChatGPT or Claude do?

You add Kitchen Timer as a connector in your AI assistant and confirm with a code. The assistant can then read and change your timers, presets and meals, so you can say “start a 12-minute pasta timer” with your hands full.

What does it collect?

Optionally, anonymous usage counts and error reports, to make the app better. Never your timer names or anything you type, and you can switch it off in the app under Advanced.

Something's not working, or I have an idea

Use Help & feedback in the app's menu to send feedback, report a bug, or record your screen while you explain the problem. You can also use “Suggest an idea” at the bottom of this page.

Do I get anything extra if I pay?

No. You get the same app as everyone else, plus our gratitude. Contributions fund new features.
